Resilience - Orchestra
This composition is the story of my freshman year of college. My director Dr. Mark Walker told me that he wanted me to compose a piece about everything I learned my freshman year. I originally thought he meant what I learned in terms of theory and all of the music classes I took. The more I worked on it though, the more I realized that this piece was slowly transforming into a story, rather than a composition exercise. The music depicts three defining stages that I went through during that year; my “Glorious Moments, Great Memories, and Unfortunate Failures”.
This piece was originally written for Wind Ensemble, but received a revision for orchestra in 2024.
